This release introduces a hierarchical project tree. This allows users to logically group the scans in large projects. In editing, these can then be enabled or disabled during a variety of operations, which increases clarity and can speed up calculations enormously. The file format had to be extended for this purpose. Older projects can be used as before without any problems. Furthermore, this version includes the following new features and changes: In Modeler and Viewer, the order in the points list can now be reversed if required. We are pleased to present you the current version Scalypso 2020. The most important innovation concerns the possibilities of the interactive evaluation functions. The reconstruction of 3D CAD elements can now be carried out both in the planar view and in the spherical view. Thus, it is now also possible to continue working seamlessly over the horizontal scan limit of 360°. The reconstruction of elements in the area of the floor or ceiling is now also much easier and more intuitive because they are visible in this view without distortion (Fig. 1). A maintenance version of Scalypso with version 2.20.3 is available. It includes several minor improvements and bug fixes, an optimized Allplan 2019 real-time export interface and support for multiple CAD versions. We are happy to announce Scalypso 2.20.0. It contains a new tool to create and manage local project transformations. This allows to align 3d laser scan projects or parts of it, e.g. along boundaries, walls or streets. As a result, you can easily position different buildings, floors or sections into a single CAD drawing. Customers with a software service contract can update without additional fees. In cooperation with the Bocad (Aveva) and Tekla (Trimble) experts from 3iCAD in Wuppertal, Germany, we have now developed a real-time interface of the Scalypso scan modeler to the steel construction programs Bocad from Aveva and Tekla from Trimble. The new interface is now available to all interested customers. The export of the 3D data from the Scalypso Modeler is done to the software module TEKBOconnector from 3iCAD, which intelligently transfers the 3D data received from Scalypso to the respective target system.
